We know it’s the holiday season and you’ll have office parties, family get togethers, and whatever else your invited to. But wait! Your color is gross, faded or you have gray coming in, OUCH! Don’t reach for the box color just yet. Call your stylist and get an appointment for color. They are trained in color formulation, they understand skin tone, color chemistry, hair density, and the art of coloring gray hair.
There is more science in coloring your hair than you think. Let’s be real here, do you really think that Beyonce is in her bathroom, getting the color all over her $5000 sink with boxed color, then sticking her head under a sink to rinse it out…NOT. She has a professional stylist making her gorgeous and it’s not just one color from a box. In fact we see a surge of box color correction emergencies the week before school starts, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. And guess what, it costs more for us to fix it. We know the boxed color said “Wheat Blonde” and you got “BLORANGE”. There’s reason for it, Blonde highlights on dark brown hair won’t happen in one application.
All too often we see breakage, splotchy color, missed spots (we know you don’t see the back of your head, but everyone else does), dark ends and hot bases. We have also noticed how boxed color can give a chemical haircut. Meaning, when used without understanding the chemical breakdown or the laws of color, you will see breakage. Also, please stop pulling the color through on your ends, its making them darker by depositing color. Over time it builds up and is harder to remove. We know it can be expensive, but you’re not just paying for color. You’re paying for thousands of dollars worth of education, no missed spots, even color, no messes, your gray gets covered not colored(big difference) and your color is customized just for you. So if you really really have to grab a box, caveat emptor-buyer beware.
