Summer is over and its back to reality. For some of us it’s back to school. For some of us it’s back to work! Did Summer dry your hair out? Does your hair feel like a rats nest? Hold on Skippy! Before you do anything drastic. Try this. Call your salon! Most salons have special treatments designed to
help with dry hair. We know how to get those lovely strands rehydrated. Did your color fade? In fact doing a treatment before a color service will actually help your color last longer. Here’s what we do at Glam. We cleanse and even out the porosity of your hair with Redken’s Pre-art and Hair Cleansing Cream. Then, we apply some love with a Redken Chemistry Treatment and a Redken Haircare Treatment like Smooth Lock, Allsoft or Extreme. In some cases we’ll use Redken’s Shades Eq Clear to help condition, close the cuticle and add shine. 15-20 minutes of your time will add shine!
Dear Ombre, we need to take a break.
We also know that Ombre was still around this Summer, but some schools have dress codes (yuck) and Ombre maybe a no-no. Or, the sun faded your ends so much it looks like Ombre. In any case its important to get your hair back to normal “the right way”, we suggest this plan of action to fix your Ombre. 1. DO NOT TRY TO FIX IT YOURSELF! We don’t care if some kid or non-professional from YouTube says it’s easy. There is more science to coloring hair than a lesson from YouTube or a picture on a box. Please seek a licensed hairstylist. 2. Get a Redken Pre-art Hair Cleansing Cream Treatment or a Redken Chemistry Treatment. 3. Depending on how blonde your Ombre is, your stylist will tone your hair. Sometimes We may have to do it twice. Ask your stylist if your hair must be filled first. Most salons charge per application of color. Be up-front and ask, so there are no surprises. 4. Get a haircut! This overlooked step is the most important. Getting the split dry ends of helps create a beautiful blow-dry.
